What’s the best way to run train when taking part in a triathlon?
This is probably the toughest of the disciplines because it comes at the end and it requires the greatest degree
of aerobic power. Again those new to running should focus on short bursts no longer than 5 minutes interspersed with walking. Injury prevalence is highest during running due to the impact, but do not let this induce anxiety, as the correct trainers and training will minimise this risk. It is essential that trainers are fitted by a specialist.
Time guide based on a 5k:
Beginner: 30-40 mins
Intermediate: 25-30 mins
